Resin is a tactile and increasingly popular alternative to using vinyl to produce toys. There are many different kinds of resin and it often forms a more solid piece as opposed to a hollow vinyl toy. Producing a resin figure is a lot cheaper than vinyl and therefore has made toy production more accessible for budding designers. They do often have to be handled more carefully than vinyl however as a heavy drop can cause them to break. Resin toys are often hand-cast.
