Biography[edit]

I was born in the rural town of Fort Plain, NY, on October 9th, 1975. It was (and still is) pretty small as far as towns go...three stop lights, a gas station or two, the local grocery store, and acre upon acre of farm land. I'm pretty sure the cows outnumbered the humans! So, needless to say there wasn't much to do growing up (unless milking cows was your thing). Luckily my interests turned to art at an early age and to monsters as well. It wasn't uncommon to find me glued to the TV on Saturday afternoons with colouring book in hand watching my favourite big green behemoth...Godzilla. That and a healthy dose of Ray Harryhausen and Jim Henson movies (especially the Dark Crystal) were what laid the ground work for the artist I would become.

After high school my interest in art and movies led me to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I studied special effects and make up. A few years after graduating I moved to California to pursue my dream of working in the fx business and since then I've worked on several major motion pictures working as a creature fx painter and designer.

I have recently started showing my oil paintings in galleries around the southern California area and plan to do more in the future. Always pushing myself to make the next painting better than the last.
